April 20.2001

The City Council met in special session on Wednesday evening. April 18,2001 at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor Harold L. Ludwig presiding and the following Council members present: Lowe, Martin, Sherwood, Griesbaum and Wiewel. Absent from the meeting Rossiter. Mayor Ludwig called the meeting to order. Mayor Ludwig stated the reason for this meeting is to give the Council the results of the City election held on April 17,2001. Mayor Ludwig stated the City Clerk has prepared a letter with the results.

Mayor Position:

Harold L. Ludwig 184 votes

Berle A Ayers 181 votes

North Ward Council:

 Ronald L. Powers 61 votes

Michael L. Lowe 50 votes

Phyllis J. Heindselman 54 votes

Middle Ward Council:

Jim L. Harscher Sr. 36 votes

 Edward 0. Cox 41 votes

 Write-In Candidate John R. Stiffey 48 votes

South Ward Council: Sammy E. Henderson 43 votes

Write-In Candidate Fred J. Wiewel 10 votes

City Marshall

Delbert G. Murphy 247 votes

 Penny A. White 99 votes

 Wiewel motioned to accept the elections results.

Lowe second the motion. Motion carried with the following roll call vote: Martin YES, Sherwood YES, Griesbaum YES, Lowe YES. Wiewel YES.

 Mayor Ludwig stated he needed a motion to pay the election judges and rent on using the Local #143 Building. Griesbaum motioned to pay the election judges and rent. Martin second the motion. Motion carried all five yes. Mayor Ludwig stated the last item on the agenda is the alley up by the Tobias property. Mayor Ludwig stated the City Clerk and himself had checked the passed minutes on what action was taken by the Council regarding closing an alley for Randy and Pam Novinger. Mayor Ludwig the alley was abandon by the City. Sherwood motioned to abandon the alley requested, but any further request will be looked at on a case by case bases. Lowe second the motion. Motion carried all five yes. Mayor Ludwig stated there has been another problem regarding an alley. He will be checking into it further and getting information from the property owners. Having nothing further before the Council, Martin motioned to adjourn. Lowe second the motion. Motion carried all five yes.
