LA GRANGE MINERAL SPRINGS

Among the numerous good thins in La Grange there are at this writing probably few if any that are so well and favorable known in so many parts of the country as our natural mineral waters. "Wyaconda" spring, on a beautiful river view fruit farm in the north end owned by William H. Thomas, has become famous for the cure of nearly all the ills flesh is heir to. As these liquid pearls spout to the surface, sparkling with carbonic acid gas, they seem to say, "Nature bids me come that I might befriend suffering humanity." Every day some one finds this to be true, for indeed these waters are true friends to mankind. They are indispensable in all forms of indigestion and dyspepsia and very useful in all forms of kidney and bladder troubles. The water has been used with remarkable success in the removal of gravel and uric acid deposits, and is an excellent remedy for diabetes. It keeps the system in healthy condition, regulates the stomach and live and thus removes the germs of disease and prevents sickness. It purifies the blood and keeps the skin clear and soft. In fact these waters will prevent more sickness than all the drugs in Christendom will cure. Thousands suffer daily with headache which comes from indigestion. Remove the cause and the disease is gone. This water will do it because it is a natural remedy provided by nature, not man. What suffering is daily endured by hundreds of thousands of people in the Mississippi valley from indigestion, dyspepsia and constipation, which can be cured and prevented by the free use of this water because it is the natural remedy for such troubles. Regulate the stomach and liver and nineteen-twentieths of all our ills will be cured. Scarcely a day goes by that water is not shipped away from La Grange to some parts of the country. Agents for disposing of it have been established in many cities and towns and more are wanted in every town not already supplied with an agent. Chicago agents take it by carloads so great is the demand there. It is on sale in over five hundred places in that city and many beautifully painted delivery wagon advertising our mineral springs are kept busy every hour in the day delivering the same. Physicians use it in their daily practice; it is kept in hospitals and sick room and is appreciated everywhere. A Chicago syndicate is now arranging for the establishing of a sanitarium here. Thousands of her citizens swear by it as the best medicinal water ever introduced in that city and not a few are bold in proclaiming "Wyaconda" as "the best water under the shining sun." Science stands amazed at the wondrous cures produced from the use of these waters where medical skill had failed. Were we to try to publish the voluntary testimonials on file from Chicago alone we could not get them all in this issue of The Indicator, therefore all testimonials from the thousands at home who have been benefitted as well as those in the state and elsewhere must of necessity be omitted. Thus far in this article we have mentioned only one of our springs, the "Wyaconda," but we have another one that possesses about the same medicinal properties as the "Wyaconda" and is located about a mile farther south, which is named "La Grange" because it is right in the city, only three blocks from the depot and two and a half blocks from the steamboat landing. The combined flow of water from the two springs is about fifty thousand gallons per day, so we may say the supply is ample for several sanitariums without interfering in the least with the shipping demand outside. For the information of all we publish below the analysis of both springs as made by our state and United States chemists.

Absolutely free of organic matter. Each analysis represents the contents of one United States gallon of 231 cubic inches. These waters are colorless and as clear as crystal. For bathing purposes they are excellent; in a word, the cures made at Hot springs may be made here under the same treatment with the water heated to the same temperature. Our facilities for giving baths are only meager at present, but will be improve on in due time, and let us say here for fear we shall forget it, that the use of these waters for drinking and bathing are as free as the air we breathe. To all who wish to come to La Grange, no charge whatever is made for the water at the springs- they are free to all, and while we are not a Saratoga Springs nor a Carlsbad in the way of accommodations, yet we can care for several hundred guest very comfortably. We have large and small hotels and commodious boarding houses, furnished rooms and restaurants, and for some years past have gained quite a reputation as a summer resort town. Last season quite a number from St. Louis, Quincy and other cities spent the summer here and were so well pleased with our place and its attractions they will return and bring their friends this season. Again we say to you, come to La Grange for health, pleasure or business; enjoy these health giving mineral waters and be happy. If you desire further information about the waters, Mr. Thomas or any of our citizens will take pleasure in giving you information.

WYACONDA DIURETIC MINERAL WATER

Medical authorities are fast recognizing in general, what progressive physicians acknowledge as their experience, that the most efficient aid and in some cases the only remedy upon which they can rely is a natural mineral water. Tested in most divers and trying circumstances, the Wyaconda Diuretic Mineral Water has proved itself the most potent and palatable agent in the treatment of the manifold ills manifesting themselves through the kidneys, bladder, or stomach or betraying their presence in unsightly nd humiliating ulcers, eruptions or excoriations of the epidermis or skin. Naturally carbonated, as it springs from the earth, slightly saline, with an added attraction in the absence of organic matter, it holds in solution a combination of minerals that in their wonderful and attested efficiency can not be surpassed. The rapidity with which the Wyaconda shows its influence and the permanence that attends its cures place it unequivocally foremost not only of mineral waters but in the rank of medicines in the treatment of hitherto fatal diseases. Bright's Disease and Diabetes rapidly succumb to the use of Wyaconda as the numerous cures of prominent people attest. In that stubborn and distressing complaint, Catarrh of the Stomach, the most gratifying cures have been accomplished and acknowledged by people of unquestioned integrity. In Typhoid Fever the Wyaconda water agin displays its superiority. The milk diet universally prescribed in such cases being much more easily assimilated and quite as palatable when diluted from one-half to one-third with Wyaconda. The alkalinity of the water making it peculiarly adaptable to this purpose. This course is particularly advisable in persons of weak digestion, chronic dyspeptics and with all young children, obviating the distress occasioned by that common fault of too rapid drinking of milk. No more delicious and healthful beverage could be devised and it can be partaken of in any desired quantity and at anytime. Taken with meals, or as a substitute for tea-coffee, etc., it exerts a salutary influence over the digestive organs which can not pass unnoticed. For incontinence of urine in children or the aged, the regular use of Wyaconda Water in small quantities, excluding other water during treatment, will relieve immediately and by its invigorating qualities so strengthen and muscles controlling his function that the annoyance is soon forgotten. In chronic catarrhal inflammation, wherever located, immediate benefit is experiences. It s local influence upon the alimentary canal being announced directly in the discontinuance of the numerous symptoms usually attendant, catarrhal indigestion, constipation, etc., leading as they do to a great many of the nervous disorders with which physicians are asked to cope. Materially aiding the eliminative processes, the entire system soon regains its natural vigor through the use of Wyaconda. The blood thus purified, restored to its natural condition of alkalinity, the unnatural obstructions and deposits, uric acid, calculi, gall stones, etc., are soon dissolved and passed away, piles disappear, strictures are a thing of the past, gout and rheumatism are no more. These are facts, not chimerical theories, borne out by plentiful evidence daily presented. Too much can not be said of the value of the Wyaconda to women in the many diseases peculiar to them and directly effecting happiness and well-being of others. The salutary effects are shown in vomiting of pregnancy, albuminuria attendant upon the same condition and dropsical tendencies, etc., are quickly corrected and overcome. As a douche for inflamed or irritated surfaces, its bland and healing influence is nowhere shown to better advantage. Delicacy forbids the publication to a great degree of the personal experiences of many beneficiaries. It is a fact that sterility of long standing has been cured by the intelligent employment of this remarkable water. It is disputable that it exhibits a marked influence upon the generative organs of both sexes. Children no less than adults experience benefit and pleasure from its use. Its value in cases of worms in attested by mothers who have had occasion to thank the Wyaconda for the immediate relief afforded children in this common complaint of childhood. Particularly effective in this case is the use of Wyaconda warm in forms of enemas and to be given in as large a quantity, preferably hot, as the child will drink on an empty stomach, mornings. Where such conditions as eczema, scrofula or blood poison exist, old sores or cancerous humors, a systematic treatment with Wyaconda will accomplish a cure when everything else has failed. In all cases special directions are gladly furnished on application. The Wyaconda Diuretic Mineral Spring is located in the north part of La Grange.
