JULY 13, 2001
Steve Johnson, the director of enforcement for the Missouri Gaming Commission says LaGrange can function with five officers, but any number fewer than that would cause some concerns and that he prefers a larger department.

Yet, the Mayor Pro-Tem and City Council hired two more officers to make it now 8. And the Council refuses to put logos on the police cars to make them identifiable by the public and keeps on paying THOUSANDS of dollars to keep the MULES computer that isn't needed.

December 3, 2001

I received an interesting email the other day about "the bald rabbit". Remember him? Well, it seems he was hired as a police chief in a town in Iowa. The way the emails read, I suspect that when they tried to do a back ground check, City Hall kept its mouth shut. Anyhow, the rumor is that the bald rabbit, left town in the dark of night. And, the rumor went on that some City stuff was mistakenly taken and many bills were left unpaid. He was supposed to attend a Council meeting to tell all to kiss his cotton, but failed to show. Rumor has it that the rabbit is hopping over to Memphis Mo. A couple of businessmen here in town have several bills they would like to get paid too. Something about a big wedding meal, and rent and utility bills.

I understand that the problem with hiring police officers is complex. First off, the schools refuse to give any bad information on an applicant. Then, any past employer usually, as in many cases here in La Grange, the Mayor and Council "allows" the bad officer to resign, rather than do as I did, "fire them".

Now, this brings up the situation with "Double R". His only choice in the life of law is being able to keep working for La Grange. For him to go anywhere else to get a police officers job and that City looks up the gossip page and see where he is prone to "false arrest" "harassment" "illegal search" "refusing a lawyer" "refusing medical". With a resume like that, who else in the world will hire him. The Council is afraid now to fire him, so he is in limbo.  It looks like the next job is with McDonalds.

As with the emailer above, I and that person intend to follow these rouge officers and make sure that a bug is put in the next places ear.

Robert Roscher should have been immediately fired just like ex chief Mike Baker.

December 2, 2001

In attending the Casino restaurant Friday am for breakfast, I saw several people from La Grange eating out to support the Youth Center. Friday evening, we had supper, and we saw 15 tables with La Grange people eating out to support the Center. Betty is always amazed at all the support the people of La Grange give to the Center. The rest of us aren't. The people of La Grange always support the town. Myself, along with many others are grateful for the interest and support of the Mark Twain Casino for its support.

December 1, 2001

I received an email today from a person who congratulated me for putting on things that were positive toward the City Council. Even though I like the compliment, I have to admit it isn't my fault. People like this one do not understand the fact that 99% of what is posted here comes from the people of La Grange. I just put it up. Yes, I do add my 2 cents worth. And, the people like the way the Mayor pro-tem and the council are working together. They did not like martini and weasel and their tactics. They are not happy about the Mayors attitude and antics. AND, they do no like to be harassed by the cops.

November 30, 2001

It has been noticed today that the City crew put in a sewer line for the Mayor Pro-Tem, Steve Griesbaum. Even though it is reported that he is paying the City for the work, it isn't right. The City has no business doing business against any business in town. The City work should have ended at the property line and the Mayor Pro-Tem should have hired a local contractor to do the rest of the way.

On a lighter side, a new City employee has been caught in the act. The new employee was caught by other city employees "greasing" a city backhoe. The other employees were astonished to find out that after all these years, that their equipment had places on them that needed periodic greasing. One employee thought that all the City equipment was self greasing.

It is rumored that "ALL" City employees are ordered to GIVE $5.00 to purchase the Mayor a Christmas gift every year. Well, since this Mayor has been in office. Some employees are wondering why fireman are not included in the $5.00 gift.

November 29, 2001

Three more mails: One just said, "LA Grange doesn't need to worry about terrorist, they hire all they need." Another was a comment on the "school zone" sign near the Lutheran Church. "Why was the sign replaced after it was knocked down, there isn't any school anymore?" The other was a question, "Why don't the police do anything about those grain trucks running the stop sign and speeding through town, are the cops afraid of them?"

The City council voted NOT to put any signs on the Police cars like every other city does. I guess they want to keep the people being stopped confused as to who is stopping them. Just like dressing them up like highway patrolmen.

We lose one police officer and the City Council hires two more. Go figure! It costs the City (people of LA Grange thousands of dollars for the MULES (computer for the police department) just so the dispatcher doesn't have to call on the radio to Macon to get the same info. Go figure!

Rumor has it that the City clerk had the people who do the City Audit come and tell how they are ok. Only, the auditor said that the State Audit will come up with a different conclusion. He rumor around town is there are bets being taken as to who is left holding the bag.

November 27, 2001

I got a couple of emails from relatives of a couple of the cops.

Well Mr. Brandt,
You should be happy now. One of your local police officers will no longer be following around the good people of La Grange, stopping them for no reason at all on earth. Now he won't be there to rid the town of illegal drugs, or stop an accident waiting to happen, either. He won't watch for the townspeople's children and care for them, like he does his younger
brother. He won't be there to make your streets safe. He left his family and friends and the comfort of his new job (which, for some reason he really loved) and is heading off to defend the city of La Grange, our wonderful America and the world against terrorism.
Private Robert Warner - Officer Robert Warner to many of you - is off to war. He won't be bothering you again for at least a year and maybe two. I can't tell you how this breaks his little brother's heart. This e-mail probably won't make your gossip page. I have been looking at it for months now, hoping to see some good news about #118, but all I see are complaints about him and his fellow officers. You see, I live very far away and can't see him very often.
You seem to be a fairly intelligent man, and concerned about your town. I think you don't see how your constant barrage of ill-willed complaints and groundless (at least you never give facts or names, just your nicknames and suppositions) accusations run the spirit of your town down into the mud. I've seen it in my own small town, how one person, or ideal, can destroy
what others are trying to build up. I have been to La Grange and think you all have wonderful possibilities, considering the money pouring into the town. Why don't you urge the officers to use the new Youth Center to educate kids and parents alike about drugs, homeland defense and other issues, and get some communication going between the officers and the townspeople? I really think all they want to do is their jobs. If a few criminal toes (belonging to "important" citizens )get stepped on along the way, isn't it worth it to make a few more stops and rid yourselves of the drugs and riffraff? I'm sure you've guessed by now, I'm #118's momma. That officer is the bravest man I know, and he's only 22 years old. He's kind, funny, crazy, loving, loyal and trustworthy. Most people would be thrilled to know him. He can't wait to defend the country. Even in his absence...he'll once again, be watching over your thankless, whiny butt. God Bless America and you, Mr. Brandt.

Well, Ms. Warner, if the emails and calls I received about #118 and #113 are any at all indication, I do not believe he will be missed. This is not my opinion, it is the opinion of the people of La Grange who have had to live with his constant harassing them. If his driving is any indication, the streets and the children of the town will be safer with him gone. Just because he is a cop and drives a police car does not give him license to drive recklessly as he has done. You are right, all you have seen is complaints about HIM and #113, but you haven't seen any complaints about many of the other officers, who do their job without harassing the people.

Speaking of the Youth Center, Officers from all over the County come to the Youth Center to help out. Yet, only one officer has even asked about helping out at the Youth Center. I don't remember any of them at any baked food sale even. AND, not one of the officers will patronize the local gas station, or any of the other local businesses in town. In fact, they want to stay apart from the people of the town as much as possible. A good police officer would want the Council to make ALL traffic signs legal so their tickets are legal, but it seems the cops in La Grange want to give as many illegal tickets as legal tickets. So much for being upstanding citizens. But, with a Mayor and City Attorney and Judge who don't care, why should the police care?

Speaking of drugs and riffraff, the police officer has to be out on the street to stop that and the cop has to get out of his car to do that. But, they do know how to run the radar gun.

ANOTHER EMAIL FROM A POLICE OFFICER RELATIVE

Jerry I want to ask what was the city thinking !!!
screwed up the sheriff dept. and was fired!!!
He will not tell you that but look at him. I would trust
him! (NOT). Just give him time and he will screw up the city or get someone
killed. I have even heard that his wife did not tell the truth about some thing
and that one of his very own that is in a ranking slot
told on him and she was fired. (Is that true)
find out can you!! It has been told that he likes to blame
others but to stupid to look other places.
what a Chief I want to work For him (NOT). And
for that loser Mayor what a joke I was told that he
better be thinking about a lawyer it is said that someone
who the fired is going to put him. lets see

I haven't been able to figure this one out. I am not sure they are mad at me, the chief or the Mayor. I thought about straightening the email out but, I didn't know where to start.

I received 5 more emails regarding the restaurant at the Casino. Everyone seems to want to say how good the food and service is for some reason.

I received one email regarding a school zone sign near the Lutheran Church that fell down. The emailer wanted to know why it was replaced, as there is no school. I was complimented for berating the Mayor and Council for not taking over the school. The only thing I could say was that the Mayor and martini and weasel did not want a school in La Grange. So, they let the school go.

November 25, 2001

Well, since Wednesday, there have been 47 emails. 29 of the emails were complaints about the police. There were several complaints about officers following people around and harassing them. One complaint about the chief which included calling the Mayor names. Other complaints were about the constant stopping of people for nothing. Most were about 113 and 118. A couple said they were either going to or coming from the Casino and said they weren't coming back.

I had 8 emails complimenting the Casino restaurant food and service. The other emails were complaints about the web page not being updated.

There is one person in town that is logging all the calls of the police calls in the area. His report shows that the La Grange Cops call in 27 more times than to each call in by the Canton police, and 9 more times than Quincy.

It looks like the City is looking for a new place to move to. One place was the old bank building. One would think that with all the money the City has in the LRO building, it would take it over and use it. Everyone knows it will never be rented to anyone, so why not the City taking it over. They could sell a couple of police cars and do away with about 4 officers and have plenty of money.

I bought the wife a real nice Christmas present the other day, a nice shiney new washing machine. And, I got me a new toy to play with too. CLICK HERE.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

See ya Monday:

November 19, 2001

Two days is about all it takes before emails are asking for something new. Actually, things in town have been very quiet lately. The only emails and rumors I have been getting is still on the Police Cops. Rumor has it that the new chief has now been sworn in as the new chief. Hopefully, he will now have the power he needs to reign in the two renegade cops. Rumor has it that they are still hoping their old chief will come back. Too bad they still feel that way. Maybe they will just quit and go to work with him someplace else. Rumor has it that one of the renegades stopped a car and told the driver that at 30 mph he was getting close to 40 mph and get a ticket. Rumor has it that another renegade pulled out in front of a citizen and later followed the citizen and stopped him and accused him of going around the cop car. Rumor has it that a renegade stopped a driver who had a drive-a-way sticker and told him that the sticker only allowed him to drive during an emergency. It can only get worse with these two.

Where is the Mayor? 184 voters have to be so proud of him and his cops. At least he is tickled to death.

At the Chamber supper Saturday evening, Betty Bronstine and Ed Ensor got the man and women awards and the Casino got the business award. The members were told by the Casino that the City of La Grange has been almost a half million dollars so far. Wonder where it is going??

November 17, 2001

Yesterday was an exciting day in downtown La Grange. A tractor trailer had a little trouble making the corner at the stop light to get to the elevator. Rumor has it that the drive cut the corner too short and hit the light pole. Rumor also say the driver backed up and gave it more power and hit the pole again and it took three times to break off the pole and get the trailer around the corner. Here is a picture of the pole being braced by another. CLICK HERE

The real funny part of the accident was our police protection. Everyone in town is still laughing at them. One main comment was that these guys really take their job too seriously and need a mother to guide them.

Rumor has it that a person was stopped doing 30 miles an hour. He was told that he was getting awful close to 40 mph and the officer wanted to stop him to let him know. Canton is so lucky.

Another rumor is that the other night a police officer was heard hollering desperately for "backup". This was supposedly heard several times like it was life threatening. Then the rumor is that the "backup" showed up and a few minutes later they called for a City crew to come and pickup the little dog.

One minister of a church in town isn't laughing though. Rumor has it that a child of his was walking down the town hill in front of City Hall with a couple of friends and the officer who teaches us how to stack cars, you know, the one who was really wanted from the Canton police department, came out of City hall and started hollering and berating these kids. And then, when the kids started back up the hill, he again came out angrily, and chewed out the kids again. But, it is all understandable, rumor has it that at the bowling alley in Canton, there is a parent that berates his own little kids all the time.

Somewhere along the line the City Council is going to have to have take charge and make some serious changes in our police protection. It is only a matter of time now when something serious is going to happen. A person can only hope that it isn't them or a loved one that his hurt seriously or even killed. It is only a matter of time.

November 15, 2001

The Quincy Area Community Foundation handed out $25,000 to 26 not-for-profit organizations at a noon luncheon Wednesday at the Quincy Country Club.  Among the organizations was our very own La Grange Community Youth
Center.  They received $1000 to go toward the purchase of a stove and snack bar items for the new building.  Alice Fish and Betty Bronestine attended the luncheon and accepted the money on behalf of the youth center.  Congratulations! Even Quincy thinks our Youth Center is a good idea.

Rumor has it that the Council Meeting Tuesday evening was very positive. There seemed to be a lot of laughing and jokes amongst the Councilmen and Mayor Pr-Tem. It is too bad the other mayor has to come back and bring back the doom and gloom.  It looks like the fire dept got some needed equipment. Some stuff that was broke. It looks like the police cars will be getting emblems to show that they are police cars. All it took was a Mayor and Council "working together". Hint Hint

Rumor has it that the Council voted to get a new soda machine in City Hall. I hear that the City Clerk is worried now whether the City will have enough money for next years City picnic. "chuckle" :)

I can see a big problem with having two Mayors. The Mayor Pro-Tem and the Council issues orders for the City crew and then the other Mayor comes in the next day and makes changes. I think the Council should make a Council Resolution or even make up an Ordinance making a choice. Hint Hint city Attorney ;)

If the other Mayor is still sometimes acting as mayor, why hasn't he sworn in the chief , lieutenant, corporal, sergeant, with their new titles. Why is he penalizing the police officers?  They are not happy campers.  Why hasn't he made new committees? Since Councilwoman Elaine White was elected, nobody knows who to go to.  Roger Sherwood was chairperson of police before, so is now Elaine White the new chairperson??  Nobody knows or will say. The City is getting applications for city admin. I wonder if  "pave my drive free" or "no prayer here" or "over 45 years" put their pathetic applications in?

Also rumor has it that more and more people are enjoying the new place in town "the Ju-Joint" up by the Foundry. I have stopped by a few times and found the place full of people each time. I hear that they will have liquor by the drink and package stuff by the first of the year. Maybe that is why the other place has changed its name again.

November 13, 2001

A lot of people on the North end of La Grange were awakened at about 3 am this morning with sirens all over town. The old house just North and across the street from where Alice Fish lives caught on fire. The firemen were still on the scene at 8am this morning. The property is owned by a Mr. Powers from Quincy and he has been seen over the past few years coming over and working on restoring the old house.
Here are three photos of the building CLICK HERE  CLICK HERE CLICK HERE

I got the rumor below backwards, it was the cops who wanted to spend quality time.

November 11, 2001

Rumor has it that S L decided to spend some quality time with one of the local cops. The rumor also say that while they were visiting he was needed at the Casino.

I also hear that the Methodist Church God's Portion Sale and food had a real nice attendance.

AND, again the family had supper at the Casino Restaurant. The steaks were excellent and the service was still excellent. Our waitress made many stops to our table to make sure we had everything we wanted. For a couple that eat out three times a week and has been in every restaurant in Quincy and Hannibal more than once, the Casino still has the best food and service.

I noticed the Margeret has gotten Ted Sturhaun to peal away a few and eat out more often at the Casino. And in the mornings Wayne Maples and Jim Moon dominate the corner booth as soon as the restaurant opens. Veda Brandt is now staying at the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy. And Gay Miller sent me an email. Remember her?

November 9, 2001

Back on November 5th, I printed an email regarding an employee being dismissed at the restaurant at the Casino. Taking that it was from Canada, I was under the impression that it was from a visiting customer of the Casino. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

I received a phone call today about the employee and made a couple of others calls and found information that the person that was hired to do the job really wasn't qualified enough to tackle such a job. No more, no less. And, once I found out who the employee was, I said, "no wonder".  AND THEN, I found that the emailer was not just an uninterested party/tourist and not just a customer at all. In fact, I found out that he was a relative with an ax to grind about the management at the restaurant. Whenever something hits this page that isn't quite right, I usually get feed back sooner or later. This time the Casino was unfairly attacked by a sneaky pete.

Other than that, 99% of all the other comments about the restaurant at the Casino has been from good to excellent. Personally, my wife and I really like to eat there and do so every chance we get. I like the waitress Chassie and the Chef whoever he/she is that cooked my steak the other evening. We eat a lot of times at our favorite place in Quincy, the Patio. Mark of the Patio and his brother who owns the Elkton and I used to run the river together when we were younger and we like the filet mignon at the Patio, but, the Casino restaurant is getting more of our eating time. When the Casino's restaurant starts having filets and lobster tail, I might not even leave town at all. I love Red Lobster, and make all kinds of excuses to visit our son in St. Louis to go to one.

Rumor has that last evening there was a real to down by the Casino. Let's see now, the rumor says at least all five police cars, ambulance first responders, fire and rescue. A night of a 1000 flashing lights. Maybe they were just celebrating the Casinos grand opening.

Rumor has it that the ex-chief was in town talking to his suckups again. Must be more plotting against the new chief.

And then I get this awful rumor that an assistant city clerk has been taking a lot of city papers to the Liquor store for viewing. Rumor also has it that she has been bringing to the liquor store papers that some of the local cops are interested in too. I guess this must the way the Mayor is showing how he sharing information with the people.

And then there is this rumor that an Assistant has been conveniently "forgetting" to lock the door at the bottom of the steps. Rumor has it that some officers have "accidentally"  found this door "accidentally" unlocked and had to search City Hall to see if anything was missing.

184 voters have to be so proud of their Mayor. He seems to be tickled to death that the Casino is so close.

November 8, 2001

For the last couple of days, the scanner has been somewhat quiet. By the police settling down and not harassing the public the emails quit. The new police chief is slowly getting the La Grange police department in shape. So far emails have been very supportive of the new chief, even the talk at the cafe and white house.

Don't forget to go to the Methodist Church Gods portion sale. I donated some really odd items for their sale. These people do a great service to the community. In fact, it is the ONLY church that contributes to the La Grange Community Youth Center. They not only help the youth center raise money, they also have included in their budget a monthly donation. Just think, you get to eat from 11am to 1pm and then join the sale.

AND, Heartland Resources is having their 19th Holiday craft and gift show at the Highland Elementary School in Ewing. They will also have roast beef dinner.

November 6, 2001

A tractor trailer overturned on Route C curve by the fire station. Rumor has it that the officer on the scene was heard hollering for help, there was too much traffic for him. Then he was supposedly heard calling for someone to bring his accident report book. No reason was given as to why he didn't have it with him. Then he was supposedly heard hollering for help again for some to bring his measuring tape. Then he was supposedly heard hollering for help to control all that traffic. It was so overwhelming for him, he couldn't do it all by himself like Kenny Ballad or Bob Whitmer or Eston Johnson or even old Joe Niles or Dick Snider. By the time he got done hollering for help, there were three or four officers on duty to do (one) job. And then they all started stopping everyone the rest of the day. May the Lord help us all.

Rumor has it that the Casino is having its secret grand opening today. Rumor has it that they are having a two for one meal deal. Why do I call it rumors, well, have you seen any advertisement? What ever advertisement that the Casino is using, isn't readily seen.

I have received several emails in the past few weeks regarding the City Council. Each and every one of those emails were an expression of anywhere to satisfaction to "what a great City Council" we have. This City Council and Mayor-Pro-Tem seem to be doing everything right. One sent an email that the header said "City Council" and the message just said "excellent".

I had the occasion the other day to be able to talk to a La Grange police officer. Even though we had a congenial talk, what he said to me not only worried me, but in a sense scared me. Actually, he scared the hell out of me. One of the things that worried me was that he said that the people of La Grange "Need to understand" the mentality of the police officers. The people "Need to understand" how they are trained. Then as the talk progressed, he went on to tell how they are trained. This is where the scary part comes. He says that he is trained to watch everyone as a potential "threat". They are to watch everyone closely to make sure that they "the police officer" isn't attacked. They aren't required to carry a small firearm that would injure or stop a "criminal". They all carry a large caliber gun, 357 - 9mm with high powered bullets aimed solely to "KILL". Not to injure and stop someone, but to "KILL".

I also notice that in the discussion that at no time did the officer make any statements as to the protection of the citizens, nor did the officer feel he had any need to understand the people of La Grange at all. Everything he discussed was the protection of himself and other officers. It was also insinuated that the officers consider everyone except his fellow officer as a potential criminal of some sort and a possible threat to "him". Everyone they stop are considered to be someone with a gun. And everyone is ready to attack the officer at any time. The officer has to be on guard at all times from everyone.

It was very unnerving to hear that these police officers consider all the people of La Grange and anyone driving through La Grange to ALL be considered a potential criminal and possibly a person with a gun ready to kill the officer.

If any other person presented these feelings and thoughts to a psychiatrist, they would be immediately considered a paranoid psychopath and sent to a Looney house. Yet, these people are hired by the City to "PROTECT" you. If I were a Mayor or a City Councilman, I would be equally afraid of the possibility of a serious tragedy here in La Grange. With police officers that have this kind of attitude toward the people they are hired to "protect", it is only a matter of time.

November 5, 2001

I really am not involved with what is happening at the Casino. I don't know who works there or who does what, but I keep getting mails about the Casino restaurant and what is going on there. So, on that note, here is an e-mail from a "tourist" that has been coming to the Casino and the Restaurant. This email came from Canada.

Dear Mr. Brandt,
Just wanted to let U know I was in LaGrange and visited your town and casino and wasn't stopped by the law there! I had a very enjoyable time while there. I visited the Casino's Clemens Cafe and found everything very enjoyable and the food was excellent! However, a few days later the casino let the kitchen manager go supposedly I am told do to not enough money in the budget for her position! How can U get rid of the person who gets everything set up, gets U thru the health inspection, hires all the staff, and does an excellent job and was working around 15 -18 hours a day to get this off the ground! I went back to the casino just before I returned to Canada and was very disappointed in the food! I wasn't impressed with the service I received at either visit but the food was definitely lacking the quality it had in my first visit! I hope the management wakes up and tries to find someone of the same caliber as the Chef Jessica that they let go! Maybe U can get them to do something about the raw deal she was given or if they see this on your web page maybe they will wake up! Hope to visit your fine city again soon!

Now, as far as locals, I get a lot of positive remarks regarding the restaurant. There isn't much in the way of e-mail regarding the Casino though.

One little thing. An avid horse back rider who has had horses since she was a baby, was thrown off her horse a few days ago. I understand that at her age, it took quite awhile to get back on the horse and has been feeling pain since then. I believe she graduated with Arnold Tiemann. Rumor has it that her daughter has ordered her to put a safety belt on and safety railing around her for her next ride.

I have four young chickens and four young geese that are big enough for Thanksgiving. I will trade two of each with someone willing to do the work.

November 2, 2001

The Petition for the State of Missouri to come to La Grange to do an audit of the City books has been completed. As required by law, the petitioners were required to have 25% of the registered voters sign the petition. Well, the 3 businesses and 9 petitioners received over 32% of the registered voters signatures by last nights meeting and since the petitions won't be sent in until Monday, several more people have signed the petitions.

An interesting incident happened at the Farmers & Merchants Bank. Several petitioners have been taking their petitions in to have them notarized. One prominent long time businessman took his in and the President of the Chamber of Commerce refused to notarize the businessman's signature. This really pissed of the businessman and he has let everyone in town know what the man from Canton, who is the president of the Chamber of Commerce of La Grange did to him.

Then another petitioner took their petition into City Hall and the Assistant City Clerk refuses to notarize that persons signature too. And again, everyone in town was told about how the assistant city clerk was so stupid she didn't know what the notary was supposed to be notarizing.

Well, a look up in the Missouri Statutes shows that there is a penalty for any notary not fulfilling their duty. I guess these so called notaries didn't read the instruction book.

But, no matter, there are other competent notaries. And there are way more than enough signatures. The audit will happen now. And, the petitioners have respectively asked that the State audit the books all the way back to 1993, including the flood relief money, the project brighter future money, and the LRO, as they all were and are involved with the City as Councilmen were on all the boards as Councilmen intertwining City business with these non-profit organizations.

November 1, 2001

Well, Halloween went over pretty good. The police were out in force giving out candy and tickets. The fire department gave out ice cream bars. This was probably the most protected place in the Country, save the White House. But, it does seem that the new chief is starting to shape up the police department. He still has a couple of them that doesn't seem to do well, but that too will be ironed out.

I noticed the City paving second street from the Casino North. The Mayor and the Street super were there discussing how to pave the street, then the Mayor had to leave as he had an important meeting at the Casino.

Well folks, you have to take a ride down second street. This is a paving job that makes the Mayor proud. There is a paved patch on one side of the street and then it goes to the other side of the street and then back to the other side of the street. It looks like either a drunk did it or someone who can't see straight. The dirt wasn't cleaned off the street before the new asphalt was put on and the thin sheet of asphalt just pushes around like crumbly pie crust. Those 184 voters have to be so proud of their Mayor, I know that he is just tickled to death. That road has to be the crappiest asphalt paving done on earth. Even the fly by nighters do a better job. The street super just pissed away all that asphalt. But, the Mayor thinks with all that money coming in, who cares.

Then, take a look at the new hydrant in front of the Double G. It will ten years before that job is finished and will probably look like second street. But, it all makes the Mayor proud and those 184 voters. They all like their town to look like crap.

WARNING

People who by computer printers and copy machines do not know that there is a difference between the front end cost and the back end cost. For instance, A Canon or Lexmark printer is sold at a discount. But, the ink cartridges are sold at rip off prices. An Epson printer cost 10% more, but the ink cartridges are 10% of the cost of Lexmark, Canon or Hewlett Packard. A Sharp copier has two models, the one with a 3 digit number is mass merchandised. (SF760), but you can call Sharp and get free tech support and the toner cartridges are only $9.00. But, a Sharp (SF7350), four digit number, is "Owned" by the local dealer. He now has complete control/ownership of Your copier. And, the toner jumps to $30.00 for the same bottle of toner.

Even though I didn't need it and really wasn't allowed to use it for quite awhile, I had an 800 number lawyer ready to represent me 24 hours a day, at no charge, with prepaid legal services. It is the best "Legal Insurance" anyone can have. Especially here in La Grange where you can stopped for "Nothing".

FOR ONLY $14.95 per month, it is CHEAP compared to the Outrageous Fines levied here in La Grange.
